Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

MY THOUGHTS

“Tahera delivers storytelling goodness of epic proportions.”

Benson Ekpo (@ReadWithEkpo, www.readwithekpo.com)

If there’s ever a case of a book being too ‘Fast Paced’ then ladies and gentlemen, I give you Shatter Me. One minute I’m appreciating just how beautiful the cover is and the next I’m gasping for air as I turn the last leaf.

“Impossible… it can’t be… NOOO!… I want more… Gimme more!!! Aahhhh!”

Tahera delivers storytelling goodness of epic proportions. I feel almost too embarrassed to admit I’ve only just read this master piece, I asked myself why the heck I didn’t jump into this earlier and I can’t possibly find any reasonable excuse.

Like most books in the dystopian genre, Shatter Me is set in an apocalyptic future where humans have all but destroyed the earth. Dire climate change, intense famine, and of course the good old human greed has contributed to the decline of mankind. Juliette Ferrars, the main character (and the new love of my life *wink) is one sensational character, I promise you’ll be dying to unravel her one layer at a time.

While I enjoyed this book greatly, i must admit I can’t wait to read the action I’m hoping will take place in book two. This book was served on a very fast-moving straight pace without many jaw-dropping actions, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but I really wish it had ended on a much higher note (that sly cliffhanger tho, lol) I could almost predict most of the plot which didn’t help much, but I promise you, I NEVER SAW KENJIMOTO COMING. Like, what! Dude came out of nowhere with his ability and left me feeling all weak and stuff. Mentally, I had categorized him as a nuisance that I just had to put with, he reminded me of my neighbor’s kid who just started going through puberty. A breath of fresh at best and bumbling bambino at next. BOY was I wrong. I quickly went from;

“Urrghh! Can you just accidentally-on-purpose die already?” To

“OMG! Dude you’re a badass and I love you.”
